This article will explain what the EventConnect service fee is and how it is used.
What Is the Service Fee?
Every reservation includes a non-refundable per-night room reservation service fee (deposit), which is charged immediately to your credit card when you secure your booking. This charge will appear as “EventConnect” on your credit card statement.
Why Does the Service Fee Exist?
The service fee is processed by EventConnect to:
- Provide support for hotel contracts, team room blocks, and guest reservations.
- Ensure a seamless digital booking experience.
- Secure hotel inventory with valuable amenities, discounted rates, and “Pay Later” options.
- Offer cancellable hotel accommodations and advocate on your behalf when canceling beyond the deadline.
- Enforce the Force Majeure clause, which protects reservations from penalties due to unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, government actions, etc.).
Is the Service Fee an Extra Cost?
No, the service fee is not an additional cost. It is deducted from the overall reservation total, ensuring there are no hidden fees, and all charges are included in the tournament rate.
Where Can I View My Service Fee?
You can view the service fee:
- Before your reservation: It will appear as a line item in the cost breakdown labeled Due Today. The service fee amount may vary depending on the event and hotel.
- After your reservation: The fee will also be visible on your reservation receipt, which can be found in your confirmation email or by accessing your reservation on EventConnect.
